Panamint Valley at Dusk

28 Aug 2018 15 6 719
Once a lake in wetter times, the Panamint Valley is now a dry wasteland where summer temperatures can approach 50ºC. As barren as it is, there is a desolate beauty here, particularly at that magic hour of dusk. This image was shot from a Kiev 60 medium format film camera with a МИР - 26В 3.5/45mm lens and a Hoya HMC O[G] 82mm filter using Ilford Delta 100 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitalized with Photoshop.

Miss June

Some members of Ipernity post photos of attractive women, often in very risqué poses. Although I don't have any such models to photograph I do have Miss June for your viewing pleasure. She is a TBM-3 Avenger torpedo bomber posing seductively on the hangar deck of the USS Hornet. This tripod assisted photo was taken by a Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera with a Super-Multi-Coated Takumar/6X7 1:4.5/75mm lens using Kodak Portra 800 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Fly Dragon Airways

Natural Barrier

17 Jun 2016 13 10 713
A botanical garden without a fence to protect it's rare plants from inquisitive visitors? Upon closer inspection there may indeed be a very effective fence here created by the cacti themselves - in fact, one that does not require a "Trespassing Prohibited" sign. The penalty for breaching the barrier is painful enough . . . This photo was taken by a Hasselblad 500C film camera with a Carl Zeiss Distagon 1:4 f=50mm T* lens and Hoya Infrared R72 ø67 filter using Rollei Retro 400S film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Fairytale Forest

16 May 2016 7 6 621
I often wander in an enchanted forest where beneath a 500 year-old sequoia, fairies frolic. When telling this story people laugh at me and say that I am dreaming. Yet, I have a photo of this magical place and I know that it is true . .

Winter Stroll - IR Version

11 Feb 2016 5 2 607
In an alternate infrared dimension someone is also taking a nature walk on a beautiful Northern CalifornIRa winter day.
