Citizens in many countries around the world incorporate broken glass into the top of their walls to discourage intruders, in this case, a small village compound in the high Andes of Ecuador. This photo was taken by a Nikon FE SLR film camera with a Nikkor-H Auto 1:3.5 f=28mm lens using Efke KB25 B&W film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered in Photoshop.

Laguna Quilotoa

The rim of the Ecuadorian crater lake, Laguna Quilotoa, is over 4,000 meters above sea level and 300 meters above the surface of the lake. I guess this barrier fence is better than nothing, preventing curious tourists with cameras from tumbling down into the depths . . . This candid shot was taken with a small consumer point and shoot Sony DSC-W55 pocket travel camera owned by my son, Nash.

Although the majority of my images are from analogue/film cameras, an occasional photo from a digital camera is merited. Especially when one is on top of the Andes admiring the view from the rim of a crater lake 4,000 meters above sea level. Taken from a 10.2 megapixel still image function of a Sony HDR-SR12 equipped with a Carl Zeiss 1.8/4.9-58.8 Vario Sonnar lens and a Tiffen 37mm UV filter.

This image was shot from a Nikon FE SLR film camera with a Nikkor 50mm 1:1.8 lens using Efke KB25 B&W film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered in Photoshop. Note: A surprise discovery! - In a camera bag packed away after a 2008 family trip to Ecuador, two rolls of undeveloped film shot by my son, Mason. Developed after a slight delay (June 2013)
