From the heights of the pyramid of Edzna is an overlook of it's Mayan ball court. There were no goals scored on this afternoon in a match which by all accounts was a to-the-death struggle . . . This photo was shot from a Yashica ELECTRO 35CC with a COLOR-YASHINON DX 1:1.8 f=35mm lens using Kodak color slide film and scanned by an Epson Perfection V600.

Edzna Pyramid Steps

The five story staircase leading up the main pyramid of the Edzna Mayan temple complex has been half-restored. According to archaeologists this site was occupied by 600BC and like many Mayan sites, it's decline and abandonment remain a mystery. The Mayan temple site of Edzna, located outside of Campeche, México, is somewhat off the main tourist circuit. This is how the partially restored pyramid looked in May,1975.
