Personally, I think that the Atlanteans were responsible. Atlanteans on the Pacific coast, you question?? . . . Perhaps my theory has some holes in it. For decades Pacific Coast Highway 1 was subject to massive slides here during the winter rainy season. Since a bypass tunnel was constructed the former highway has be converted into a trail maintained by the park service with spectacular ocean views.
