Stow Lake is a manmade lake in Golden Gate Park. The lake has provided San Franciscans with an outdoor escape from the hectic pace of the city since it’s creation in 1893.

At the base of the Golden Gate Park’s Strawberry Hill on the shoreline of Stow Lake is the Golden Gate Pavilion, a Chinese peace pagoda presented to San Francisco by it’s sister city, Taipei, in 1976.
