I have a great appreciation of the noble cactus. It is very hardy and can endure harsh conditions that would shrivel other plants. In spite of the hardships that it suffers, it still presents a beautiful bloom that beautifies it’s home, albeit with a warning to all who may come too close. With Easter weekend upon us, I was privileged to be in attendance during the pontiff's visit to my remote campsite, deep in the Mojave National Preserve. I was both surprised and pleased that the liturgical schedule of His Holiness included The Granite Mountains. Upon further reflection, this unique and beautiful geologic formation is indeed a divine creation.
