-An Andean alpine valley with sheer cliff faces overlooked by Nevado Hauntsan, 6200m., where my party of 3 camped for the night. We were on a 4-day trek from Olleros to Chavín, Peru. I began my alpine training for treks like this with a friend, scaling the heights of El Tepozteco near Tepoztlán, México, many months before. I lost the 35mm Agfa negatives of this shoot and discovered a faded print in my old photo travel-journal dating back to 1975. Using an HP Scanjet 5470c I was able render a digital image which I carefully restored as best I could with multiple Photoshop operations.
