Escarpment

Much of Utah is comprised of a complex system of canyons cut through sheer layers of rock. Countless unnamed promontories and impregnable bluffs overlook steep escarpments. This photo was taken by a Kowa/SIX medium format film camera with a KOWA LENS-S 1:3.5/150mm lens and Zenza Bronica 67mm SL39•3C(UV) filter using Kodak Portra 160 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.

Extra Terrestrial

Hardly a week passes without an exciting discovery of some new exoplanet or asteroid. Not wanting to miss out on all of the fun, I have initiated my own search for extraterrestrial bodies. With great pride I can now announce the discovery of a previously undetected eroded rocky world orbiting in the outer reaches of our solar system. A very brief landing on the rugged surface allowed me to shoot this solitary photo. Although, the world has yet to be named, it has an uncanny resemblance to the landscapes of southwestern Utah. Taking a page from the first settlers in the new world of America, I hereby name this planetoid 'New Utah'. This photo was taken by an Asahi Pentax 6 X 7 medium format film camera and Super-Multi-Coated Takumar/6X7 1:4.5/75 lens with a HOYA HMC 82mm O[G]) filter using Adox CHS 100 II film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitally rendered with Photoshop.
