The Kathedraal (Cathedral) is a work of art by Marinus Boezem. It was donated to the Kroondomein Het Loo (Het Loo Royal Estate) by the then Queen Beatrix on the occasion of her 60th birthday to underline the connection of the House of Orange with this nature reserve. The artwork was unveiled in 1999.
The work of art consists of 40 bronze tree trunks on a concrete foundation. They have been placed exactly according to the floor plan of Reims Cathedral, on a surface area of 125 by 35 meters. The stumps are casts of a by the artist modeled clay model.
The Kathedraal is one of the most hidden and inaccessible works of art in the Netherlands. Located in the middle of the woods - not signposted - of the Kroondomein Het Loo it can only be reached on foot or by bicycle.

Stockholm’s Storkyrkan (Great Church) is also known as Sankt Nikolai kyrka or Domkyrka (Church of St. Nicholas or Cathedral). The church is located next to the Royal Palace and is the oldest church of Gamla Stan.
The medieval cathedral is dating back to the year of 1279 and was originally built by Birger Jarl, the founder of Stockholm. Storkyrkan is an important example of Swedish Brick Gothic and the oldest building still in use in Stockholm. .
Since 1527 the cathedral has been a Lutheran Protestant church. The church is often used for major (royal) ceremonies such as coronations, weddings, crownings and funerals.
The Gothic interior (PiP 2) of the church - dating back to the 15th century - offers a lot of unique and important art objects, among them the impressive Royal Pews (picture + PiP 1).

The Domkerk (St. Martin's Cathedral) was the cathedral of the diocese of Utrecht during the Middle Ages. It once was the largest church and the only cathedral of the Netherlands.
The construction of the present church started already in 1254. Since 1580 it is a protestant church.
In 1674 a tornado destroyed the part of the church that was connected to the tower and was never rebuild. The Dom tower is with a height of more than 112 meters the highest medieval tower in the country.
