This is a macro view of colourful hybrid Poplar catkins, taken on 23 April 2015 in Fish Creek Park. When I went for a stroll around the Artisan Gardens at the eastern end of the park yesterday, I found a tree that still had its catkins in reasonable shape. The male and female catkins (flowers or reproductive parts) of hybrid poplars are usually found on separate trees.
