Those who know me will know that there was no way I could resist taking a quick shot of these large garden ornaments, seen through a chain link fence at the end of someone's garden. From a distance, they looked quite attractive. Taken yesterday evening, 6 August 2014, when I was on a nice, slow botany walk with friends in North Glenmore Park. A lot of the plants we were looking at were escapees from the gardens right next to the path in this part of the park.

This is one of the very first photos I took wth my first digital camera, an Olympus C750UZ, on 4th January 2004 - wow, just about eight years ago. I happened to come across this photo yesterday and decided to post it, hoping that it will help to put me in a Christmas mood : ) As you might guess, I like wood and metal - I'm not a frilly, old-fashioned ornament kind of gal : )

Dragged myself out for a short, cold walk in a local park this afternoon (windchill -21C). The sun had twice burst through the overcast sky, but it was back to grey and dull while I was in the park. Took this little guy with me, just for fun. He was smiling - but I was just relieved to get back to my car and head for the warmth of home : )
