I think this is the first garden flower, taken this spring, that I have posted so far. It feels good to have a "new" flower photo to share, instead of digging into my archives for a bright splash of colour. When I called in at the Reader Rock Garden a week ago, on 29 April 2015, there were only a few flowers that were in bloom. These included the Tulips in this photo, a few Hepatica that were already not in the best condition, and several other species. Soon, though, there will be more and more to see as each week goes by. Colour at last!

Thought I'd better post something other than the recent little Northern Pygmy-owl, LOL! It is such a rare treat to see these special owls, but my photos of them lack bright colour. Bought this small bunch of pretty Tulips from Safeway a few days ago.

These are beautiful Tulips in a small pot. I love the mixture of yellow and red/orange and the little red hearts that are (unseen) on the inside of the petals.

Needed a splash of bright colour this morning, as winter has returned to Calgary - colder and a bit of snow. Had problems uploading my photos today, so now have to rush to go out shortly.

A little patch of gorgeous orange/red Tulips growing inside the ENMAX Conservatory at the Calgary Zoo, on February 17th. The staff at the Zoo do such an amazing job of creating seasonal flora displays inside this large room, which is where the butterflies will be flying in the not too distant future.

I've resorted to another photo of my potted Tulip from Safeway - yes, the flowers that have the little red hearts on the insides of the petals. Sorry I'm not commenting much at the moment - have felt ghastly for at least a week: (

I'm going to miss the wonderful scent that comes from these bright flowers in my kitchen.
