This wonderful opportunity was thanks to Phil and Jan, who so kindly invited me to go with them yesterday to Kananaskis! There was quite a lot of snow in the mountains and, though the highway was perfectly clear, there was snow right up to the road when we stopped at the Rock Glacier Trail area (along Highway 40), seen in this image. The dark brown scree clope had a thin layer of snow on it, which made walking slow and cautious. On this slope, we saw two of the little animals called Pikas, running in among the rocks.
