Great Pyrenees

30 Dec 2011 168
This big dog is such a beautiful creature and I was delighted that he was still at one of the farms we called in at, when three of us did a section of the Cochrane WIldlife Reserve (north of the city). He followed us around, but kept at least 10' distance from us. Apparently, he doesn't get on well with other dogs and keeps away from people unless he knows them - typical, I think, of the Great Pyrenees? This Christmas Bird Count took place on December 28th, and we had a beautiful winter's day, with about 10" of snow to walk through at each stopping place - but, the number of birds and species was very low, with a total of just 15 species seen by us. Just two more Counts that I go on - Fish Creek Provincial Park in the city on January 1st and Nanton Bird Count (south of the city) on January 2nd.
