A rather messy photo, but I'll take it, as I so rarely see this species of duck : ) They are only small ducks, and the males have such beautiful coloured plumage and gorgeous blue bill. Sometimes, their fan tail is in an upright position, but in my photo you can just make it out on the surface of the water. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruddy_Duck
