Coral Fungus

This photo is from deep within my archives - taken on 23 August 2010. Found this display of Coral Fungus growing at the base of a fallen, rotting log at Brown-Lowery Provincial Park. Back in 2010, I guess I wasn't adding a detailed description to my photos, so unfortunately, I can't check back to see just where I went or what I saw during this drive and walk. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clavarioid_fungi

Coral Fungus sp

I know there are more than one species of Coral Fungus, but I don't know which species this one belongs to. Taken along the forest trail to Peyto Lake, Banff National Park, off the Icefields Parkway, on 29 August 2013.

A different Coral Fungus

Coral fungi that I have seen have many narrow tubes leading up from ground level. This particular Coral Fungus has fewer and fatter tubes, topped with narrower branches. Couldn't find it on Google. I came across this the day before yesterday, when I got separated towards the end of our day of botanizing, from the two friends I went with to the Perrenoud Wildlife Habitat Area. I was so relieved to eventually see the road and our vehicle through the trees. I noticed this fungus maybe 20' inside the fairly open forest from the edge of the road.
