Orange Hawkweed / Hieracium aurantiacum

17 Aug 2011 208
Photographed (macro) at the Reader Rock Garden, on July 6th. I have only seen this introduced species growing in the wild maybe a couple of times in Calgary, but it is listed as Prohibited Noxious. "The ancient Greeks believed hawks’ feeding on the sap of hawkweed is what gave them their keen eyesight. Other common names are devil’s paintbrush and red devil."
