Purple and green with bokeh

29 Jul 2009 204
I love any kind of Allium plant : ) This one was growing in someone's incredible garden, here in the city, a few weeks ago. I just liked the soft colouring of this image, and the bokeh. I spent this morning at another garden, the Reader Rock Garden. Got down on my knees to photograph some lilies and when I stood up, a friend started brushing off all the ants that had crawled over my jacket. Well, I was conscious all afternoon, when I was doing my weekly volunteer shift, of the fact that I had received a few itching ant bites and also could swear I still feel ants crawling through my hair and around my body, LOL. Driving me nuts! Oh, well, it was worth it - as long as at least some of my photos come out : )

Bee on Chives

06 Jul 2009 208
I got the chance to photograph these gorgeous Chives that were growing in a friend's garden the other week - thanks Dorothy and Stephen! This little bee also came along to admire a flower, giving me the opportunity to capture the contrasting colours. These small bees are such a pretty colour : )

Took this photo of two young Richardson Ground Squirrels on 12th June, down by Sikome Lake, Fish Creek Park. Such funny little creatures to watch.
