I happened to notice a bunch of these in Safeway's flower section a few days ago. I'd never seen Ornamental Kale before and the lady very kindly let me buy just a single stem. Tried to photograph it, but haven't got a really sharp photo of it yet! Very attractive. In reality, the true colours are a darker green and a more purply colour instead of the pink seen here.

I've now just about reached the centre of this Ornamental Kale, having had to remove all the dead, outer leaves! Just about heart shaped - hope you think so, too, Jan, LOL!

Love the bright purple stems of the Ornamental Kale. When the leaves fall off (or are pulled off), they leave a rather wide, heart-shaped mark on the stem.
