You must be kidding - spring?

Well, what a difference a few hours can make, LOL! This is what we woke up to this morning and what I went out for a walk in. Something like 4" or 5" of snow fell overnight and temperatures dropped. Actually, it was rather beautiful down in the park! I see that a few snowflakes are beginning to fall again this evening. This Mule Deer was in a group of about six Deer - always a delight to see them, with their big, soulful eyes.

Red-breasted Nuthatch

I know, I need to find some different species of birds to photograph, LOL! I never used to get much in the way of photos of these little Red-breasted Nuthatches, but have been a bit luckier recently.

Found my buddy!

I was ridiculously happy to see a couple of photos posted by someone on another website, taken of one of the three owls that belong to "my" Great Horned Owl family! He kindly told me exactly where to find it and, sure enough, there he or she was, perched in a slightly different grove of trees to where I usually look. However, last year or the year before, I had also seen them sit in this particular place. Can anyone tell me if this would be the young one from earlier this year? To me, it looks more like a juvenile than an adult. I'd love to think that it's the baby I photographed over several months, looking all grown up. Anyone want to hazzard a guess as to whether it is a male or female?

A more distant view of the brightest Red-sided Garter Snake that we monitored yesterday.
