Taken on 16th January, on the way home from a wonderful day out to Lake Louise (west of Banff) with a couple of friends. We pulled off on to a pullout to take a look at Mt. Rundle and the surrounding mountains, and I just liked the sunlight and shadows on these peaks.

This Darner dragonfly was out at Frank Lake a couple of years ago. I posted another photo of it a while ago, taken looking at it head on, but this close-up shows the intricate details of the back. They really are spectacular, aren' t they, when seen close?
