Nihahi Ridge

21 Nov 2006 136
This is a view seen in one direction from Forgetmenot Pond in Kananaskis. I had read all about the dangers of driving the narrow, gravel trail (called Powderface Trail) at the foot of this ridge. One day when I went to the Pond, I decided on the spur of the moment to do it (a few metres at a time). The scenery was spectacular, but I felt totally cut off from the world, kept thinking about the fact that this is bear country, and was worried sick that some guy in a truck would come tearing round each blind bend. I kept going for about 25 kilometers but then fear and panic really set in and I had to turn back!!
