We saw this amazing mushroom on a day walk at Nodwell Sanctuary today. This area is down south east of the city, right next to Carseland. Some kind of Ink Cap, Coprinopsis. Love the way the cap flattens, the top cracks, and the edge curls round. Never seen one like this before.

Thank you, D, for pointing out this attractive Ink Cap mushroom on our walk this morning! I most likely would not have noticed it myself, so far off the path.

Not the best setting for a mushroom photo, but this and several other Ink Cap mushrooms were growing up through the grass on the way to a small wetland near Inglewood Bird Sanctuary.

Noticed this beauty along the bank of a small creek in a local park. It was all alone, close to some exposed tree roots.
