Mullein

Taken 10th September 2006 in the wildflower garden at Fort Calgary. Common Mullein was introduced from Greece as a medicinal plant. It was used as an agent for fish control in the mid 1700s.

I like the crinkly look of Squash flowers and their brilliant colour. Only just noticed the wasp in the top right corner.

Another Sunflower found in the garden at Fort Calgary. These flowers never cease to awe me with their beauty.

Saw this Ornamental Cabbage in the rather fine gardens at Fort Calgary. They also have a wildflower garden next to their cultiavted garden.

Another find at the Fort Calgary gardens. I was fascinated by the opening flower of this Zucchini - some interesting patterns and texture, not to mention colour.
