Thanks to Phil, here is yet another photograph of one of the five Blue Jay fledgelings whose parents wisely chose Phil and his wife's beautiful, inviting garden for their home. This (not so) little guy/gal flew down to the tiny pond for a drink.

Another shot of this glorious pink Gerbera with the narrow petals. I'd never seen one like this before, and I haven't seen one since. Thank you, Safeway, from whom I bought this beauty.

When a friend bent over to check on this partly-hidden mushroom, I realized just what it was! It is very rare that we come across one of these Amanitas, and it's so exciting and such a treat when we do! Isn't it beautiful and amazing? Of course, it's just a "fungi nut" talking, LOL. This is a zoomed-in shot, so it was only small in reality. Seen when we were botanizing Rod Handfield's acreage, near Millarville, south west of the city, on 17th August. Smoke haze from the BC fires is pretty bad in Calgary again today.

I've had this photo in my archives since early June. Bought this pretty pink rose from Safeway.

Seen growing in the gardens at the Calgary Zoo this summer.

I couldn't make up my mind whether to post this image or not - it's "messy", but I so needed a change of colour from all my orange, yellow and browns! I don't know what this plant is called - it was growing in the garden at a beautiful acreage south of the city, near Millarville.

A lily seen at the Reader Rock Garden a couple of days ago. The forecast for the weekend is rainy and cold, so I made the most of the sunshine on Friday.

Didn't come across much to photograph on my walk late this afternoon, other than this pair of Red Squirrels enjoying each other's company, LOL! The spring feeling must be in the air!

This was the second time I have been lucky enough to have one of the Bald Eagles at the Calgary Zoo take a "bath" in the tiny stream near where I was standing. After it's long bath ritual, it came over to the fence and I could have reached out and touched it - didn't think that would be a wise thing to do!

A mixture of vibrant colours from a yellow Sunflower and an orange and purple one, bought at Safeway - all natural colours.

Well, it sure felt wonderful to have temperatures that were not in the -20Cs this afternoon. No lens error messages and no dead batteries because of bitter cold. More importantly, no painfully cold fingers. And BLUE sky!

Seen in my nearest park. I had watched it near the side of the small road leading into the park, where it had stalked, pounced on and eaten its small prey.

This is a cropped version of a previous photo, showing a beautiful Coyote immediately after it had eaten some kind of small rodent. The highest position for this photo was #27 on 30th October 2006.
