Happy Christmas, everyone!

Happy Christmas, everyone! Hope you all have a wonderful day today - for some of you, Christmas Day is already over, but here in Calgary, it's almost 10:30 a.m. on Christmas morning. The temperature is -5C (windchill -8C), and it's supposed to get up to 3C this afternoon. Very mild compared to the brutally cold weather we had earlier this month. For many people, Christmas is a very difficult time, for various reasons. My thoughts are with them and, as always, with those who for one reason or another will spend Christmas alone. To those of you who don't celebrate Christmas, I hope today will be a happy one for you. If you will be on the road, please don't drink and drive! Wishing you all a HAPPY CHRISTMAS and all the very best in the New Year!

Santa's on his way

Just in case anyone has forgotten (lol!), tonight's the night - when Santa (or Father Christmas) travels the world, delivering gifts to all those who have been good. Taken on 23 December 2011. NORAD Santa Cams: "Santa Cams are ultra-cool, high-tech, high-speed digital cameras that NORAD pre-positions at many locations around the world. The cameras capture images and videos of Santa and his reindeer as they make their journey around the world." Apparently, he has already left well over 1,335,200,000 gifts (as of 8:30 a.m. Calgary time). www.noradsanta.org/en/track.html HAPPY CHRISTMMAS, everyone! All the very best in the New Year!

I'm a Birder??

These are two of the gifts my youngest daughter gave me last Christmas when she came from Vancouver. For SOME reason (LOL), she seems to think I'm a birder! (Actually, I'm not a birder - I'm just someone who loves nature and taking photos of anything beautiful). I love the little Smores snowman with Field Guide, binoculars and bird on his hat.

Pop bottle Santa

Bought this Santa many years ago from Heritage Park (a heritage village which also holds special Christmas events) in Calgary. Based on a large, plastic Pop bottle, He always adds a cheery bit of colour.

Welcome

If I could invite you over, this little Christmas table would greet you just inside my front door. Nothing fancy, but you would be welcome.
