Gray Catbird - just for the record

This evening, I have posted a dozen photos taken yesterday evening, 30 July 2019, on a birding walk in Fish Creek Park. The Black-crowned Night-Heron was the highlight for us. A few other species were seen, but many were distant and either I didn't bother to try and get photos, or else I have posted them just for the record.
I rarely go on an evening walk, but yesterday evening was beautiful weather for walking, and, as always, it was nice to spend time with friends. Thanks, Anne B., for giving up your evening for us!
Today, we are under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch. We have a hot day tomorrow, 29C (to feel like 31C). With my place feeling like an oven, I might just have to make use of my car's air-conditioning. A drive also might help take my mind off a very painful toothache, caused by two teeth I had filled about a month ago. I hadn't had toothache for many, many years - now I remember what it's like.
Time to hunt

You'd smile if you knew just how far away this Great Gray Owl was. Taken with 48x zoom and heavily cropped, so very poor quality. Posting it really just to add to my owl set, as a record of what and where. I stood and watched this owl flying over an enormous meadow, stopping to rest on the clumps of grass and soil. From some of them, it would suddenly plunge down into the grass to hopefully catch a Meadow Vole. From that distance, it was impossible to tell if it caught anything, though I don't think it did. This was either a new owl that I saw the other week, NW of Calgary, or else its mate.
Today: problems (red X) with Farm 8, Cache 1. Will Flickr ever again work without problems?? I realize that with such a huge website, there are bound to be all sorts of issues popping up all the time, but .... gets really tedious. Flickr has Hiccups....
The hunt is on

With just a very occasional glance in my direction, this amazing Great Gray Owl put on a fine hunting display for me the day before yesterday. It made perhaps eight or so attempts to catch something, probably a little Meadow Vole, but missed each time. I think the final attempt must have been successful, as the owl "cloaked" with its wings and turned round to look at me as if to say "This is mine!". And off it flew ...... I feel SO lucky to see things like this, and to get the chance to take photos. I was thankful that some of my photos came out, as it was an overcast day - the forecast had said sunshine. Wish there were 48 hours in a day - I'm just not getting time to go through all the photos I took. I'm quickly running out of space on my computer again - will HAVE to make time to do some backing up and deleting, otherwise I'll be encountering problems. All my botanizing walks and trips have now started, so things will be crazy till fall.
