Who needs lace curtains?

Jack Frost was in a "solid" rather than a "dainty, feathery" mood on January 13th, when he decorated my bedroom windows. Still pretty, though, I think. We had something like another 6" of snow overnight and this morning and it's -16C (-24C windchill). On Thursday, just two days ago, Calgary saw a record high temperature of 13.2°C as Chinook winds swept through.

Jack Frost was keeping busy

LOL, this was part of a window in my computer room four days ago, while we were still in our deep-freeze. At the moment, the weather has warmed up - comparatively. After taking some recycling this afternoon, I decided to grab my camera and head off to a local park after all - didn't feel like it at all, as I'm still feeling a bit dizzy for whatever reason. So glad I went, as I watched a Porcupine feeding on branches up a tree for maybe half an hour. Hopefully, at least one of my photos will come out OK.

Fringed in frost

Another frost-fringed leaf found at the Reader Rock Garden five days ago. The sun shone through the leaf and picked out a beautiful pattern. Interestingness#273 explore2008October22.

Jack Frost

Took this photo last night of the fern patterns that had been made on my computer room window by Jack Frost. The orange glow from a street light added a welcome illusion of "warmth" to the image.

This is my bedroom window from 31st January 2004. I had only had my first digital camera since December and it was too cold to go outside to try out my new camera - and so, Jack Frost patterns became the subject.
