As usual, I wasn't thinking about names when I photographed this gorgeous bird at the Calgary Zoo the other day. Actually, it is so rare that I manage to get a sufficiently sharp photo of any bird through the glass, that I wasn't expecting either of my two quick shots to turn out at all. If I remember, I'll have to go back and find out the name. Later: this is an Eastern Rosella, native to southeast Australia and Tasmania.
