HAPPY FENCE FRIDAY, ALL :-) I normally hibernate when it is cold and snowy :-) But, last Monday I braved the elements and went to Oxford. Thankfully, most of the snow had disappeared! This shot is of Nuffield College and I believe this is the library tower topped by a flèche. A flèche is, apparently, a lead-covered timber spire, or spirelet :-) Nuffield College was founded in 1937 after a donation to the University by William Richard Morris an English motor manufacturer who founded Morris Motors Limited. I was looking for a motor car link for 'Sight and Sound' and here comes a very wayward one :-) There is a group called 'The Cars'. Explored! Thank you very much :-) Last Saturday (9 Sep 2017) was 'Open Doors' in Oxford when you could visit places not normally open to the public. The day started off sunny but we had a rain shower in the afternoon. I didn't have an umbrella so I took refuge in the entrance to the Weston Library. I thought I should try a few, candid, umbrella shots as you would. Then these ladies came into view :-) Just recently, Paul ( autofantasia ) introduced us to the wonderful and brilliant Postmodern Jukebox.
