Explored! Thank you very much :-) SATURDAY SELF-CHALLENGE 10 AUGUST 2019 DEEP DEPTH OF FIELD My understanding of deep depth-of-field is that you need to try and get as much of the scene, from front to back, in focus. I figured that an aperture of f/18 and focussing at a point just beyond the gate would be a good starting point :-) I am not at all sure if I have succeeded! Having looked at Val's link again I am wondering if I should, perhaps, have gone for f/32. Also, I am sure a lot of lenses have a sweet spot of, probably, around f/8 or f/11. And at, say, f32 I guess the quality may suffer a bit. I could, of course, be talking jibberish :-))) Anyway, in the 'Discussion' section Kenny's comment about being able, in the olden days, to see the area of focus by looking at the lens markings brings back memories of this very helpful function :-)) Thanks, Kenny. This is a farm within Stowe Landscape Gardens. But, for the purposes of 'Sight and Sound' we will have to imagine this is a 'Ranch' and then I can choose "Fun Ranch Boogie" by Albert Lee :-) Added to Sight and Sound : Pictures & Music ♫ ♪ ♫ ♪ Listen here ~ Fun Ranch Boogie ~ Albert Lee

"Song For The Life"

Previously I have used a very similar shot to this one. That one had quite a few birds flying around :-) This one I am linking, pretty tenuously, to "Song For The Life" written and performed by Rodney Crowell 'cos there is a line in the song that says "For a sound like the sun going down" :-) Somehow I learned how to listen For a sound like the sun going down In the magic that morning is bringing There's a song for the friends I have found To keep my feet on the ground Way back in the 70's we were fortunate enough to see several 'Emmylou Harris & The Hot Band' concerts when Rodney and Albert Lee played in The Hot Band. And, since the 70's we have seen Albert very many times as part of Albert Lee & Hogan's Heroes. Many moons ago we did have tickets to see Hal Ketchum but, sadly, the concert was cancelled when Hal was taken ill and was later diagnosed with a very serious illness whereby he lost the use of the left side of his body. Unfortunately, we never got to see Carlene Carter in concert. Added to ~ Sight and Sound ♫ ♪ ♪ ♫ Listen here ~ Song For The Life ~ Rodney Crowell p.s. maybe view on black :-)
