The building in the foreground is part of the Blavatnik School of Government in Oxford. In the background is part of the Andrew Wiles Building (Mathematical Institute). There is also some hoardings here that are hiding a building site where a massive development is underway. It will be 'The Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities' and I believe it should open in 2025. It looks like it will be a very photogenic building and, hopefully, I will still be here to take some photos :-) There's a lot of glass here so for 'Sight & Sound' it will be "Glass Hearts by The Desert Rose Band. Explored! Thank you very much :-) SATURDAY SELF-CHALLENGE 21 SEPTEMBER 2019 TAKE A PHOTO AND THEN POST PROCESS IT USING YOUR FAVOURITE PROGRAM. BE SURE TO SHOW THE ORIGINAL UNPROCESSED IMAGE In 'Affinity Photo' I removed the colourful bollards, tried to correct some of the distortion (more work needed), made a small levels adjustment, increased the colour saturation by about 5%, made a slight crop and sharpened the image. Then, in Photoshop Elements I added a black pencil border and reduced the file size. p.s. Perhaps the bollards added extra colour to the scene. But, I found them a bit distracting so they had to go !!! :-))

Explored! ~ Thank you very much :-))) My previous post had a link to "Clouds" and I was a little confused as to whether it was a Bread track or a David Gates track. Karen and Mick sorted out my confusion.....thanks peeps :-) Karen also gave me a link to the David Gates "First" album from 1973. On this album there is a track called "Sight and Sound". This was big surprise :-) But, of, course, I always knew that our 'Sight and Sound' Group was even more famous than I realised :-))) So, I figure I can link any of my photos to David's song :-) This is another shot from within the Blavatnik Building. Well, looking out actually :-) Linking this to "Clouds" seems sensible to moi :-)) I don't recognise this as being on a Bread album and I was wondering if it was on a David Gates solo album? Explored! ~ Thank you very much :-))) 10 & 11 September 2016 was "Open Doors" weekend in Oxford when you could visit places not normally open to the public. On Sunday I took some 598 photos. So, I figure there ought to be one or two I can post to ip :-)) This is a shot taken inside the Blavatnik School of Government Building. Construction started in September 2013 and completed in November 2015. It has the capacity to host up to 550 students, faculty staff and guests. The building is expected to consume 49% less energy in comparison to existing UK buildings of the same size and use. ~ Explored! ~ Thank you very much :-))) Below are extracts from the following website - www.bsg.ox.ac.uk/about/new-building "Blavatnik School of Government opened its doors to students in September 2012" "Staff, students and academics are currently located across three separate sites" "We will be moving into the new building in autumn 2015" The new building is still under construction and I played around with this shot in GIMP Photo Software. I think the end result comes from applying the Seamless filter. But, then again..... :-)
