"Tried So Hard"

Explored! Thank you very much :-) If I can find a tenuous link, any tenuous link, to use with a Gene Clark track I will :-))) So, when Helen and I were in Stowe Landscape Gardens on 6 November I thought I would 'try so hard' not to take another photo of the Palladian Bridge and the Gothic Temple. But, temptation got the better of me and I can now link my photo to "Tried So Hard" written by Gene Clark. It features on the 1967 album "Gene Clark with the Gosdin Brothers". The lead guitar player on this track is the late, great Clarence White. Added to ~ Sight and Sound : Pictures & Music ♫ ♪ ♪ ♫ Listen here ~ Tried So Hard ~ Gene Clark with the Gosdin Brothers I would fully recommend the 2013 'Four Suns Productions' feature length documentary, 'The Byrd Who Flew Alone' exploring the life and work of Gene Clark. In my opinion it is absolutely the best ever music documentary.

This is the Gothic Temple in Stowe Landscape Gardens that I am linking to "Almost Gothic" by Steely Dan. This is my tribute to Steely Dan's Walter Becker who we lost on 3 September 2017. Rest in Peace, Walter. Added to ~ Sight and Sound : Pictures & Music ♫ ♪ ♪ ♫ Listen here ~ Almost Gothic ~ Steely Dan

Explored! ~ Thank you very much :-))) Allegedly, today (1 November) was the hottest November day recorded in the UK after the temperature in Trawsgoed, near Aberystwyth, in Wales reached 22.3C. I didn't go to Wales but the next best option was Stowe Landscape Gardens. Certainly didn't need an anorak and a muffler :-))

~ Explored! ~ Thank you very much :-))) Okay.............it's probably pretty obvious what is comin' :-) Yep, one of my slightly obscure links for 'Soundtrack to Life' :-) This is the Gothic Temple in Stowe Landscape Gardens. It dates from 1741 and would, surely, be fit for a King. Therefore, this links nicely to "Temple of the King" by Blackmore's Night. I currently don't have any Blackmore's Night music in my collection but I am about to remedy this oversight :-) Added to ~ Soundtrack to Life Listen here ~ Temple of the King ~ Blackmore's Night

This is an oldish shot where I have made some very minor enhancements in Photoshop. I also thought some soft focus was a good idea :-))) The Palladian Bridge, in the foreground, was completed in 1738 probably under the direction of James Gibbs. The Gothic Temple in the distance was designed by James Gibbs in 1741 and completed about 1748. This is the only building in the Gardens built from ironstone.

I am very grateful to the 'peoples' in my shot for wearing red and pink :-) You can stay in the Gothic Temple on the hillside. Mind you it is very expensive but would be an amazing experience!! I think a 3-night stay costs something over £1,000.00.
