I think the lady is 'waiting' for someone :-) For 'Sight and Sound' this, of course, leads me to think of "The Waiting" by Linda Ronstadt :-) "The Waiting" was written by Tom Petty. It is the opening track on Linda's 1995 album "Feels Like Home" :-)

The song that comes to mind here is Bruce Springsteen's "Racing in the Street". One of my all-time fave songs. But, on this occasion, I have chosen a cover version by Serena Ryder 'cos I absolutely love Serena's version :-)

Also, love the understated guitar playing by the guy. I was going to say that I couldn't see him being credited in this YouTube post which would be very wrong! However, looking at the comments there is mention of a John Kengla. Need to check him out!

When I was in Oxford I was thinking of coming up with a 'books' link for 'Sight and Sound'.
"I am a Rock" by Simon & Garfunkel includes the lines -
I have my books
And my poetry to protect me
When I saw the guy sitting on the steps of the Weston Library I thought "that's the photo I need". And, just as I pressed the shutter this lady rode by :-) The guy got up and walked away before I could take another shot!
I'm afraid we'll just have to stick with this photo :-)

With all due respect to The Mixtures I don't think I will be adding this track to my music collection anytime soon :-))

I'm sure the guy with the flowers is texting the lady on the bicycle saying "Hey, please wait for me I have some flowers for you" :-)

I don't expect the non-photogenic metal barriers to stay here in Broad Street for very long but I think they make a not too distracting background....easily pleased I am :-)
Not too many days left before we go to see Simon & Garfunkel......well, not them in person but to see the 'The Simon & Garfunkel Story' :-)
