Explored! Thank you very much :-) This is a sundial in the grounds of Canons Ashby, a National Trust property and garden in Northamptonshire. I believe the sundial dates from the 1700's but I could be wrong :-) A sundial tells the time of day and I have chosen "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce for 'Sight and Sound' :-) Tragically, on September 20, 1973, Jim Croce and five others died when their chartered plane crashed into a tree during take-off from the Natchitoches Regional Airport in Natchitoches, Louisiana.
