PORTRAY "HAPPINESS" IN A BLACK AND WHITE IMAGE. YOUR SUBJECT CAN BE ANYTHING. PROCESS AS YOU LIKE
I had intended to go to Oxford this week and I'm sure I would have found a subject that portrayed "Happiness" :-) But, things worked against me and I didn't get out with my camera. I had, therefore, to resort to finding a subject at home.
In the Discussion Thread Val said, "There is a lot of room for interpretation"
Well, I have gone for a lots and lots of interpretation with my entry :-)))
I had been listening to this album ("We Ran" released in 1998) by Linda Ronstadt. It was obvious to me that listening to any of Linda's albums brings me happiness. Linda gave so much joy and happiness to millions of people during her recording career now tragically cut short by Parkinson's disease.
I fetched my camera and this is the result. The processing was done using Silver Efex Pro 2.
And, for 'Sight and Sound' I have chosen "Ruler of My Heart" from the album. I especially love the saxophone playing by Plas Johnson :-)

"HIGH CONTRAST IN BLACK & WHITE"
Thought this building in Aylesbury might work for this week's challenge. I was in town on Monday but only had my 'iPod Touch' with me. So, I figured I would take a few test shots and go back later in the week with a 'proper' camera :-) However, the light was really good so I stayed with my iPod photos :-)
I am, also, adding this photo to 'Sight and Sound'. The building is the County Offices in Aylesbury where I once worked :-) I think "In Tall Buildings" by John Hartford is a logical link :-)

One from the archives where I got a bit carried away with filters :-))
The track that comes to mind is "Train Leaves Here This Morning". It was written by Gene Clark and Bernie Leadon. It was recorded by The Eagles and featured on their debut album from 1972. Anything by The Eagles is my fave but the version by Dillard and Clark from their 1968 album "The Fantastic Expedition of Dillard & Clark" is my absolute fave version :-)
Also, the photo (shown in the video) on the cover of the vinyl copy of the album is one of my all time fave photos :-) I still have the vinyl album :-)

This track comes from their 1968 album "The Fantastic Expedition of Dillard & Clark". One of my all-time fave albums :-)
Doug Dillard was one of the founding members of The Dillards and Gene Clark was one of the founding members of The Byrds.
Extract from Wikipedia en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fantastic_Expedition_of_Dillard_%26_Clark -
Music critic Matthew Greenwald, writing for Allmusic, called the album "perhaps [Clark's] most brilliant recording... Graceful, spellbinding, and tasteful all at the same time. Absolutely essential."
But, we musn't forget Doug Dillard, Bernie Leadon, David Jackson, Donald Beck, Andy Belling, Chris Hillman & Joel Larson.

The Andrew Wiles Building (Oxford University’s £70m Mathematical Institute facility) was formally opened on 3 October 2013. The building was designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects and constructed by Laing O'Rourke. It is called the Andrew Wiles Building in acknowledgement of one of Oxford’s most distinguished mathematicians. The building provides workspace for a diverse community of more than 500 mathematical researchers and support staff, including faculty, research fellows and postgraduate students. It is a centre for the academic life of approximately 900 undergraduates.

“Mathematics plays a pivotal role in the progress of society and its continued growth relies on the exchange and development of research ideas, the encouragement and teaching of the next generation of mathematical thinkers, and outreach to the public and schools. Mathematics at Oxford has seen phenomenal growth and success over the past 10 years and to accommodate further success, the University is proud to announce the opening of the new Mathematical Institute on the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter. This new building is already providing the intellectual and physical environment in which mathematical culture can thrive and in which teaching and research enrich each other.”
