Through A Window

Explored! Thank you very much :-) Have been inspired by the Saturday Self-Challenge on 25 August 2018 to try more shots looking through windows :-) This photo was taken from inside the University Church in Oxford looking out at part of Brasenose College. Brasenose College is, apparently, home to one of the oldest rowing clubs in the world. For 'Sight and Sound' I couldn't find many rowing songs but settled for "All The Rowboats" by Regina Spektor :-) Added to ~ Sight and Sound : Pictures & Music ♫ ♪ ♪ ♫ Listen here ~ All The Rowboats ~ Regina Spektor Maybe view on black, please :-)

Explored! Thank you very much :-) HAPPY FENCE FRIDAY, ALL :-) I am also adding this photo to: Sight and Sound : Pictures & Music Another one of my obscure 'Library' links......the building on the left is the Radcliffe Camera that is part of the Bodleian Library. Libraries have books and "Paperback Writer" comes to mind :-) I decided upon a version by Herb Pedersen from his 1976 album "Southwest" rather than the classic original by The Beatles :-) ♫ ♪ ♪ ♫ Listen here ~ Paperback Writer ~ Herb Pedersen

10 & 11 September 2016 was "Open Doors" weekend in Oxford when you could visit places not normally open to the public. Whenever I visited Oxford, Brasenose College was always closed to visitors and the only photos I managed to take were looking thru' the entrance. However, on 11 September the College was open as part of "Open Doors". I knew no-one would stop me 'breaking on through to the other side' of the entrance to take this photo of the Quadrangle with the Radcliffe Camera in the background :-) Added to ~ Sight and Sound ♫ ♪ ♪ ♫ Listen here ~ Break On Through (To The Other Side) ~ The Doors

The brightly lit building is Brasenose College. On the left is the old entrance to the Radcliffe Camera. And, red is this year's colour I reckon :-)

You can visit many of the Oxford Colleges either for free or by paying a couple of pounds sterling. But, I have never known Brasenose College to be open to visitors :-( However, that doesn't stop you taking a shot or two through the entrance :-) From "Oxford Scene; A View of the University and City" - "Brasenose College was founded in 1509 by two northerners from the Cheshire-Lancashire border...Bishop William Smyth and Richard Sutton a lawyer and the first layman spontaneously to found a college. The buildings were put up on the site of several medieval halls including Brazen Nose Hall."
