"Song For The Life"

Previously I have used a very similar shot to this one. That one had quite a few birds flying around :-)
This one I am linking, pretty tenuously, to "Song For The Life" written and performed by Rodney Crowell 'cos there is a line in the song that says "For a sound like the sun going down" :-)
Somehow I learned how to listen
For a sound like the sun going down
In the magic that morning is bringing
There's a song for the friends I have found
To keep my feet on the ground
Way back in the 70's we were fortunate enough to see several 'Emmylou Harris & The Hot Band' concerts when Rodney and Albert Lee played in The Hot Band. And, since the 70's we have seen Albert very many times as part of Albert Lee & Hogan's Heroes. Many moons ago we did have tickets to see Hal Ketchum but, sadly, the concert was cancelled when Hal was taken ill and was later diagnosed with a very serious illness whereby he lost the use of the left side of his body. Unfortunately, we never got to see Carlene Carter in concert.

~ Explored! ~ Thank you very much :-)))
I looked at this shot taken in Ventnor, Isle of Wight and thought there must be music out there with “Tempest” in the title. And, sure enough, there is :-) After some searching I came across this track by Lucius and I thought this would make a sensible link for 'Sight and Sound' :-))
Lucius are a band from Brooklyn, New York. 'Rolling Stone' said they are “the best band you may not have heard yet"
Holly Laessig (lead vocals and keys)
Jess Wolfe (lead vocals and synth)
Dan Molad (drums and vocals)
Peter Lalish (guitar and vocals)
Andrew Burri (guitar, drums, vocals)

~ Explored! ~ Thank you very much :-)))
This is similar to one of my previous uploads but in this one there is a wee bit more surf. And, you should see the size of the wave just out of view :-))
So, I figure there is enough surf here to link my shot to the classic "Surf's Up" by the Beach Boys. I'm not so sure that "Surf's Up" is actually about surf and surfing but, anyway, I think this is a pretty believable link for our 'Sight and Sound' Group, previously 'Soundtrack to Life' :-))

~ Explored! ~ Thank you very much :-)))
This 'cafe' (Lady Scarletts Tea Parlour) in Ventnor, Isle of Wight is not 'by any stretch of the imagination' a 'sad cafe'. But, so that I can use this Eagles track we will have to imagine, just for a moment, that there is a little bit of sadness here :-)
"The Sad Cafe" comes from the Eagles' 1979 album "The Long Run". It followed their all-time classic album "Hotel California". I know reviews at the time said it was a disappointing album. It could never have surpassed "Hotel California" but there are gems on "The Long Run" and I say this is one of them :-) The song is, apparently, about The Troubadour in Los Angeles).
Love the alto saxophone solo by David Sanborn at the end of the track :-)

The sun had just set here so methinks that this leads quite neatly to "Sundown" by The Dillards from their album "Copperfields" released in 1970 :-)

MUSIC IS COMIN' HOME :-)))
Leave me in the rain-send me out to sea
Lock me up in chains-throw away the key
The day I ever get too old to dream
Until yesterday I had no idea that Kenny Loggins, Georgia Middleman and Gary Burr are the 'Blue Sky Riders' !!
I was going to ask Helen if it was ok to ask Georgia to marry me............but I'm sure I read she is married to Gary. I'll survive I guess :-(
Have ordered their “Finally Home” album from the States and now desperate for the postman to call :-)
In the lyrics it says “send me out to sea” so, for me, that is enough of a tenuous link to use this photo :-))

Returned home yesterday after spending New Year on the Isle of Wight.
There is now lots and lots.........and lots of catching-up for me to do :-))
From Wikipedia -
“Ventnor is a seaside resort established in the Victorian era on the south coast of the Isle of Wight, England. It lies underneath St Boniface Down (which, at 241 metres (791 feet), is the highest point on the Isle of Wight), and is built on steep slopes and cliffs leading down to the sea. The sheltered location on the cliff of the Island's south coast means the area experiences a micro-climate with more sunny days than much of the British Isles, and fewer frosts.”
