3 pictures in notes above! :)
Steve and I decided a while ago that we need to start getting up earlier and we've slowly worked our clock back so that now I am getting up before 7am, and sometimes as early as 6am! How insane for a nightowl like me! But I've always loved the early morning when I'm up, so I'm getting a wonderful reward every time I get up.
This morning I stepped outside and found at least half a dozen poppies that were open or in the process of doing so. In shades of pinks and also red, I even noticed a little ruffled white one accented with a bit of pink blush that was shyly opening its face near the ground. I took many pictures and then gave all the flowers water as the sun peeked over the hill and began to shine rays of warmth upon all of our faces.
Once again I got my camera and took another set of pictures, and as I walked back and forth around the plot, I watched the way the sun made the petals glow and how the whole impact could change with just one step forward or back.
Crouching low, I looked at the poppies from under the petals, and the angle of the sun created magnificent lens flares which magnified the amazing scene I was witnessing. I got many pictures, and I'll show another favorite in a week or two!

Last night I helped Steve with a light-painting image he was working on out in our meadow, and the pictures he got were really amazing...at one point he stopped to take a picture of the rising moon and when he put his pictures up, I howled because his images both include the constellation of Orion! I've always wanted to take some night sky images so I was pretty envious to see these shots. www.flickr.com/photos/steves-visions/with/6834019113/ He offered to go out and help me take some of my own, and this is one of them! I hope you like it!! (two others follow this picture!)
Today also marks a special anniversary for Steve and I. A year ago today, we stopped playing World of Warcraft forever. (we were total addicts for about 5 years) My, how things have changed!!
I've uploaded two other images today and I hope you'll visit them too!
Thanks to all of you who have visited and have left comments and favorites! I try to go to all of your pages within a day or two and is a highlight for me to see your beautiful photography! :)
NOTE! I have finally updated my profile and I hope you'll take a look to find out a little more about me and how important all of you are to my experience here on Flickr!

Original Post:
It finally SNOWED last night!!! So this morning I got my lazy a** out of bed early to hunt for some pretty shots. There was very little snow and it wasn't very spectacular, but when the sun started shining over the property, I found this image! I hope you like it!!
New Comment:
Although it's been cold, we haven't seen any snow except up on the hills. Plenty of rain though, and that's good!
I hope everyone is holding up ok...I must admit that I've been pretty depressed lately. A new highly-contagious strain of covid, way too many stupid people ignoring rules and basic safety practices, the soaring numbers...it's just so terrible. However, I'm really happy that there are now vaccines being released! I hope they are distributed to the majority of the population soon but we aren't holding our breaths.
Stay safe, warm and dry!
Glowing Grass in Golden Light

Do you find yourself stunned at the effect that sunlight has when it shines through leaves and plants? The glowing qualities are mesmerizing to me, and the effect is different for everything! And, depending on where you point your camera, you can get wonderful lens flares to add to the wonderful glow of your subject. On this afternoon, I was heading up our road back to my house, when I turned my head and saw this grass, perfectly lit by the sun. I hoped that my angle would also include a nice flare in the golden light. I hope you like the result! :)

How in the world did I forget about this collage? I'd been putting this together back in January and then put it aside for some reason...and forgot about it! EEK! A week or so ago, I was looking through my staggering numbers of photo folders when I found this file! I had some pictures that were too small for my regular finished size but I thought they were too pretty to not show, so I put them together into this collage! The only thing I had left to do with the picture was to add the text at the bottom, so here it is! :D
