I purposely pushed the colors of the landscape to see what they would look like and the result is surreal!

One of the things I love about good DSLRs is the bokeh you can get out of them. This is a good example of what you can do with a nice camera! :D

Just a quick note of amazed thanks...this image has gotten 35 "Magic Lamp" awards from the 1001 Nights award group...I don't remember when I've gotten that many awards for one of my pictures before. I'm totally blown away and extremely pleased that people like this image so much! THANKS EVERYONE!!!

BOKEH!!! My Canon SX30 IS would never produce an image like this one...the softness of the background, yet recognizable and pleasing, and the foreground is crisp and clear with super light. Gotta love a good camera!!!!

Playtime with our Canon 5D!!!

I've finally decided that it's time to move up to a better camera. My Canon SX30 IS has served me very well. I've been able to push the limits with its 0" macro to 35x zoom capabilities and after 1,000's of pictures, I've gotten a LOT of experience and a fantastic education. However, over the past couple of months, the problems I can't get around have become more than I can stand. I want better quality images, I want better bokeh, and I want the ability to save my images in RAW for single capture HDRs. I am tired of all of the NOISE and chromatic aberations the SX30 is known for. I am sick of blown out colors and trouble in low light.
Say hello to the Canon 5D!! YAY!! I spent some time today wandering around our property, familiarizing myself with the capabilities of our fancy camera, and here are the 12 pictures I've processed from my adventure! I hope you like them! I'm very pleased, considering the fact that I'm only just starting to play with this powerhouse camera!

Look at that lens flare!! Look at the clouds! Holy cow! This is a single-exposure HDR image possible because this camera can save images in RAW format! YAY!!!
