This is a close-up of a stump I found while wandering around on my property. I love the intricate pattern and interesting texture.

Anyone who loves to work with wood should be drooling profusely at this HUGE burl! The wood in the burl should appear in beautiful swirling patterns, often interlaced with different colors. Burl wood is some of the most sought-after wood in the world by fine wood craftsmen.

Mushroom Growing out of Trunk [EXPLORE] #4!! TYVM!…

[best appreciated at full size against black]
I love mushrooms. To me, each and every one is unique and special. They exhibit character and personality and to me, they are like little forest people! They are also hard to find, so every discovery is very exciting to me!
This beautiful little mushroom, standing just an inch tall, was found growing out of a tree stump! (to its right is another one that had wilted and was in the process of decomposition)
I've uploaded two other pictures today and I hope you'll visit them too!
Thanks to all of you who have visited and have left comments and favorites! I try to go to all of your pages within a day or two and is a highlight for me to see your beautiful photography! :)
NOTE! I have finally updated my profile and I hope you'll take a look to find out a little more about me and how important all of you are to my experience here on Flickr!
