What the heck IS this thing? I found this a few years ago when wandering around on the Lower Tablerock with my macro lens. Now that I've finally had a chance to look online, I've identified this as a Small Onion (Allium parvum). I always thought that lupines only grew in high altitudes, but that's not true! In fact, miniature ones grow wild on our property, which is only about 1,300 feet above sea level! I found these beauties growing near the bank of the Rogue river last year, and finally got the chance to take a picture I'd been dreaming of!
