[best appreciated at full size against black] One of the most special things about eating at a Japanese restaurant is the presentation of the food. Everything served has something special to appreciate about it. On this sushi roll are beautiful green sprouts, which, by the way, taste as wonderful as they look! [best appreciated at full size against black] I have my husband to thank for introducing me to sushi in a way that didn't have me running for my life. Raw fish? SEAWEED? REALLY?? People EAT that? And...they...LIKE IT? SERIOUSLY? Yes! Seriously!! Wakame salad was something I was very hesitant to try because it looks slimy and couldn't believe it would be good. But it's amazing...crunchy, tasty flavors of zesty rice vinegar with oil, sesame seeds and many lovely seasonings, all combining together into a mouthful of deliciousness that is incredible! Once I tried it, wakame salad became an instant favorite! YUM!!! I have two other images uploaded today that I hope you'll take a look at! Strolling along the beach near Brookings, Oregon, I found lots of kelp and seaweed, along with a few mussel shells scattered on the shore. Few things are as relaxing as beach-combing!
