Here's another image from my visit to the lovely display of Echinacea that we discovered one day on a bike trip. There was no end to the pictures, and I was basically dragged away kicking and screaming! :D

The echinacea display at the gate to Pacifica Gardens was jaw-dropping and totally amazing to see! With so many colors and types in one small area, I was like a kid let loose in a candy shop! Thanks to this archive project, I've been able to visit all the pictures I took and process many more to share!
This particular flower with its pair of upward-pointing petals, can be recognized in the image which would be my Pick of the Day for my 365 Project back in 2013. If you roll your mouse over this picture, you'll see that image in the upper left! :)

A couple of years ago, Steve and I rode our bikes past Pacifica Garden out near Williams, Oregon, and the sight at their gate had us doing an about-face so we could appreciate the incredible display of echinacea they had. I have never seen so many kinds, all in pristine condition! What a show!

In July of 2013, Steve and I went on a bike ride that took us out into the lovely Applegate Valley. Along the way, we found an amazing garden that framed the gate to a nature and educational center called Pacifica Gardens. We'd never seen it before, and I was completely stunned by the number and variety of echinacea flowers growing there. We spent about 20 minutes taking pictures, and when I got home, I processed a few of them, but other than five lucky images, the folder has sat there, just gathering dust.
This is the first of my unearthed treasures, a glowing golden blossom that took my breath away! I am happy to report that I've processed five other pictures so far, and I have plans to finish up at least half a dozen more. Such incredible flowers, they make my heart go boom!! :D

I believe these are a small Echinacea cultiver, and I was again surprised that this picture didn't need cropping or any work on it, except adjusting color balance/levels! :)

Steve voted for this to be my first picture, and I would have been happy to do so, except that just yesterday I had ANOTHER "green-eyed" yellow flower as my Pick of the Day!
Do you know what this flower is called? I am assuming it's a kind of coneflower, but I haven't had time to investigate!

2 more pictures in notes above! :)
Today was Steve's Sunday Lunch Ride and it happened to be my favorite bike ride too, which is out in the beautiful Applegate Valley. 30 miles of beautiful farm country and wineries, forests and meadows, and very few cars. Absolute bliss!
At one point the six of us rounded a curve and found ourselves staring at a garden of the most gorgeous coneflowers any of us had ever seen! Although I'd taken a bunch of pictures at our lunch stop, there was no way to resist these incredible flowers and I spent about 20 minutes taking about 200 pictures, and actually, I could have spent hours there, what a TREAT!
I haven't even looked at all the pictures I took, but I'm sharing three that I really loved, and which are basically straight out of the camera! I hope to share bunches of other pictures, I got so lucky with countless winners, HAPPY DAY!!! :D
Democritus (Greek: Dēmokritos, "chosen of the people") (c. 460 – c. 370 BC) was an Ancient Greek philosopher born in Abdera, Thrace, Greece. A pupil of Leucippus, he was an influential pre-Socratic philosopher who formulated an atomic theory for the universe. Wkipedia: Democritus

Echinacea Heaven

Does this picture make you say, "Ohhhhhhhh.... ooooooooooooooooooo.... ahhhhhhhhhhh...?" I hope so, because that's what I was exclaiming continuously when Steve stopped our group at this garden in the middle of our bike ride, so that I could take 20 minutes for pictures. Everywhere I turned, I would say outloud, "OHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" Or, "AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" Or, "SOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!!" Etc. I was pretty sure my head was going to explode from overexposure to this incredible beauty. Of all the pictures I took, so many turned out nicely...it was so easy to get pretty images from these glamorous flowers that I feel like I can hardly take credit for these results! By the way, I'll be processing more pictures as time goes on because I just HAVE to share these flowers with you all! It really WAS Echinacea Heaven there. (And many other beautiful flowers were there too, but sooooo many kinds of coneflowers!!! AMAZING!)
