Come on, you know you want some!! (All kidding aside, bat guano is really fantastic fertilizer!) This image was taken during the month of October, 2011.

Looks like the grafitti artists were feeling good with this tag! This image was taken on Saturday, November 12, 2100.

Sitting on the side of the tracks near the entrance to Tunnel 13 was this axle with set of wheels. I have seen a picture of this with the other axle intact, sitting on the tracks, but I guess someone decided to make off with one set. A shame, but still an interesting image! Here's another view of the cool interior of Tunnel 13. One of the people in our group, Andy Spliethof, pointed out that where the tunnel was "ribbed", it was much quieter. He was right! The echoes inside were mostly absent where the ceiling was contoured, and bounced off every surface where the ceiling was just smoothed. This image was taken on Saturday, November 12, 2100.

This is my next set of 5 images from our trip to Tunnel 13. This one shows a train track which has two rails on it, used for directing trains from one track to another. I've always been fascinated about how trains are moved about on the tracks, and this shows a very important part of how it's done! Thanks to all of you who have left comments and fav'ed my images! I found this pile of three railroad spikes as I wandered down the track. I thought they looked really cool, nestled in the snow! I loved how this sign appeared to be leaning into the tunnel with this perspective. In actuality, it was off to the side much more than you would think. I walked here and there until I found just the right position to highlight this fun sign! :) This image was taken on Saturday, November 12, 2100.
