(for those of you who are interested in seeing my San Francisco trip images, I have uploaded 10 pictures in this batch [189 in the past few weeks]. Thanks everyone for your comments and your visits to my photostream! I hope you enjoy the show!) (Oh, and yes, I know there are really too many pictures to be uploading at one time but I have too many images I want to put into my Flickr stream so it just can't be helped!) This is an image taken through dirty, filthy glass of a most beautiful thing. When I was a kid, I remember this very carousel when it was run-down and falling apart. The animal's tails and manes were missing or falling off. The paint was missing or damaged. Filth and dirt everywhere. Then, when I was about 18 or 19...sometime around 1983...they completely refurbished this carousel from the ground up. Everything was perfect and pristine! I was very happy to see what good condition this carousel is in. Every animal is clean and bright, no missing paint, all so beautiful, bright and perfect! By the way, for those of you who may not know, there is a very fun, free Flickr competition site which you might like to take part in. It's called FlickrDuel and features dozens of ongoing competitions, or duels every day. You can enter your pictures into many different categories and vote on contests too.
