This fellow was happily reading his book at the edge of a meadow, which was full of foraging geese and a little pond with a fountain. What a lovely place to have lunch! This image was taken during my trip to San Francisco during September 12-15, 2011.

After hiking to the summit of Wizard Island and spending time enjoying the view, we all headed back down again to be in time for the afternoon boat. I watched this group of people having a good time sunning and swimming in the very cold but exhilarating water...if I'd brought a swimsuit, I'd have jumped in too!
