I grew a couple of different kinds of Cosmos in my raised bed garden a few years ago, and got an interesting picture of an opening flower which I liked. Something different, and with lots of fun bokeh too. :)

One of the plants that I brought home a couple of weeks ago was a Cosmos with pink flowers, and it's in full bloom now! These flowers have such thin petals that they positively glow in the morning light. So pretty, aren't they?!
Albert Einstein (14 March 1879 – 18 April 1955) was a German-born theoretical physicist who developed the general theory of relativity, effecting a revolution in physics. For this achievement, Einstein is often regarded as the father of modern physics and the most influential physicist of the 20th century. While best known for his mass–energy equivalence formula E = mc2 (which has been dubbed "the world's most famous equation"), he received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics "for his services to theoretical physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect". The latter was pivotal in establishing quantum theory. Wikipedia: Albert Einstein

3 more pictures in notes above! :)
Such radiant blossoms. Cosmos are amazingly beautiful flowers, and they are also quite easy to grow. In fact, I've got 7 seeds that will hopefully grow into plants fast enough to flower by the time it gets too cold around here!
By the way, I've added some other Cosmos pictures in notes above that I took last year! ENJOY!
From
Wiki:
Cosmos is a genus, with the same common name of Cosmos, of about 20–26 species of flowering plants in the family Asteraceae.
They are native to scrub and meadowland in Mexico where most of the species occur, Florida and the southern United States, Arizona, Central America, and to South America in the north to Paraguay in the south. Cosmos are herbaceous perennial plants growing 0.3–2 m (10 in–6 ft 7 in) tall. Flower color is very variable between the different species. The genus includes several ornamental plants popular in gardens; numerous hybrids and cultivars have been selected and named.

This was another flower I photographed when Steve and I visited Jacksonville, Oregon. The dark shadow gave me some wonderful results like this one!

It really is true what professionals say when discussing the art of taking pictures: we are capturing light as it interacts with subjects. I am always amazed at the beauty of light passing through flora, and I found this when Steve and I were in Jacksonville the other week. :)
By the way, I've uploaded two other pictures today and I hope you'll visit them too!
