Sutro Tower Through the Fog

19 Sep 2011 1 1 245
The fog was so heavy today that I could only glimpse the Sutro Tower from atop Mt. Davidson! This image was taken during my trip to San Francisco during September 12-15, 2011.

Frosted Dancing Wires

12 Jan 2012 1 228
[best appreciated at full size against black] There was really no end to the wonderful opportunities to take frost pictures, and I really love the way these wires entertwined together, tipped by frost. This image was taken in December, 2011.

I See the Light!

14 Nov 2011 211
This is another image from inside Tunnel 13, with a neat lens flare. I've uploaded 5 more pictures from our photography trip to Tunnel 13, south of Ashland, Oregon. I hope you enjoy them! :) Thanks to all of you who have left comments and fav'ed my images! I appreciate them all! If you leave a comment, I try very hard to return the favor on the same day. I consider it both a compliment that you've taken the time to tell me what you think about my image(s) and an invitation for me to come see your photography as well! By the way, for those of you who may not know, there is a very fun, free Flickr competition site which you might like to take part in. It's called FlickrDuel and features dozens of ongoing competitions, or duels every day. You can enter your pictures into many different categories and vote on contests too. It's another way to enjoy your photography! This image was taken on Saturday, November 12, 2100.

Beautiful Snow in Light and Shadow

14 Nov 2011 2 184
One of the fun things about this photography trip was the SNOW! We haven't seen any since about May or June, so it was lovely to see it again! Since I was born and raised in San Francisco, snow will always be something special to me! This image was taken on Saturday, November 12, 2100.

Just Two

Don't you just love to blow on dandilion fluff?! I think every child has loved to find these and make a wish before blowing. I never realized that dandelions aren't the only flowers that make these fluffy balls made of a globe of seeds. In fact, there are countless flowers which distribute their seeds this way, and it makes sense...the seeds become airborne and can travel quite a distance on a windy day. I have a difficult time resisting from taking pictures of these fluffy balls because they are so cool looking, whether a perfect ball or with just a couple of seeds left, like this one! :) This image was taken in April, 2012.

Feather Hearts

10 Feb 2013 289
This is my alternate for today, a pair of feathers I found floating on our seasonal pond. The surface tension of the water around them makes a heart and I thought it was just beautiful! I had planned to make this my pick for today but Steve insisted on the pampas grass! What do you think?
