Neighborhood Church

1 note above! Not far from our house stands this pretty church standing on its immaculately tended grounds. This image was taken during my trip to San Francisco during September 12-15, 2011.

Pretty Neighborhood House

This beauty is located at the edge of a prosperous neighborhood. The other side of the street is lined with much more modest homes, but this side of the street has lovely, expensive homes and as one travels that way, they just get fancier! Unfortunately I didn't take any other house pictures on my trip due to lack of time, but I would like to eventually wander around taking pictures of some of the fancy homes near my father's house and share them on Flickr. This image was taken during my trip to San Francisco during September 12-15, 2011.

Church Steeple

The steeple on this church has always been a favorite of mine with its pretty blue scalloped paint job. This image was taken during my trip to San Francisco during September 12-15, 2011.

Laguna Honda, Built in 1867

21 Oct 2011 185
I have always liked these buildings, which sit high on a hill near my father's house. It's a hospital and rehabilitation center. Laguna Honda opened in 1867 to care for one of the first generations of San Franciscans, the Gold Rush pioneers. Conservatory of Flowers: Side Shot

01 Oct 2011 207
The Conservatory of Flowers is a greenhouse and botanical garden that houses a collection of rare and exotic plants in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, California. With construction completed in 1878, it remains the oldest building in the park, and the oldest municipal wooden conservatory remaining in the United States. It is also one of the first municipal conservatories constructed in the country. For these distinctions and for its associated historical, architectural, and engineering merits, the Conservatory of Flowers is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the California Register of Historical Places, is a California Historical Landmark, and a San Francisco Designated Landmark. De Young Museum Architecture

(for those of you who are interested in seeing my San Francisco trip images, I have uploaded 10 pictures in this batch [128 in the past couple of weeks]. Thanks everyone for your comments and your visits to my photostream! I hope you enjoy the show!) In the time that I'd moved away from San Francisco, the remodeling of the De Young Museum had been completed, and Laura told me that it was well worth the visit for its architectural beauty. She was right!! I took lots of pictures and was extremely impressed by this building's design! By the way, for those of you who may not know, there is a very fun, free Flickr competition site which you might like to take part in. It's called FlickrDuel and features dozens of ongoing competitions, or duels every day. You can enter your pictures into many different categories and vote on contests too. It's another way to enjoy your photography! This image was taken during my trip to San Francisco during September 12-15, 2011.
